Step into the heart of the cottage and unwind in the cosy living room, where comfort meets charm. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, featuring modern appliances and a large wooden dining table – perfect for gathering over family meals, board games, or a glass of wine in the evening. This is the perfect space to enjoy family meals.
Pilgrims Rest also offers three beautifully presented bedrooms: a bright and airy king room, a snug single, and a versatile family room with both a double and a single bed. A handy fold-out ‘Z’ bed can be provided on request.
There are two stylish bathrooms to choose from: a convenient ground-floor shower room with a rainfall shower, and an upstairs family bathroom complete with a bath, overhead shower, toilet, and heated towel rail.
Outside you'll find the large garden, offering a gravel area with a firepit for cosy evenings, a spacious lawn, and plenty of outdoor seating. It’s the perfect spot for both sunny afternoons and starlit nights.
Neighborhood
The village of Bacton is nestled along the North Norfolk Coast, approximately 10 miles from the popular seaside town of Cromer. In the village, visitors can enjoy a meal at the local chip shop or café, and find everyday essentials at the local store and gift shop.
Known for its expansive sandy beaches, Bacton is a perfect coastal retreat, with Pilgrims Rest just a 5-minute walk from the nearest dog-friendly beach. Other nearby beaches include Walcott (a 15-minute walk), as well as Mundesley and Happisburgh, both about 3.5 miles away. The bustling town of Cromer, a favorite among North Norfolk seaside towns, is under a 30-minute drive and offers a wealth of attractions and activities.
For dining options close by, there are several eateries and pubs, including Poachers Pocket, The Lighthouse Inn, The Keswick, and Oriental Garden. Further options can be found in North Walsham, which also features a large supermarket for added convenience.
There are plenty of family-friendly activities in the area, with BeWILDerwood—an exciting adventure park featuring zip lines, jungle bridges, and tree houses—just a 25-minute drive away. For more thrill-seekers, the popular theme park Pleasurewood Hills is located about 10 miles past Great Yarmouth. For outdoor enthusiasts, Broads Canoe Hire in Hickling is just a 20-minute drive from Pilgrims Rest, offering a great way to explore the Norfolk Broads.
Though Pilgrims Rest is a coastal cottage, it’s conveniently located for exploring the Norfolk Broads, with Wroxham and Hoveton only 25 minutes away, where visitors can hire boats for a day out on the water.

Pilgrims Rest is most easily accessed by car. Bacton is located just off the B1159, around 10 miles from Cromer and approximately 25 miles from Norwich.
The nearest train station is located in North Walsham, about 6 miles from Bacton. North Walsham is on the Bittern Line, which connects to Norwich and Cromer, providing regular services. From North Walsham, you can take a taxi or a local bus to reach Pilgrims Rest in Bacton.
Bacton is served by local bus routes connecting it to nearby towns such as North Walsham, Mundesley, and Cromer. The Sanders Coaches service runs regular buses along the coast, making it easy to access the surrounding villages and beaches without a car.
