Can I Book Accommodation for Subcontractors or Self-Employed Workers?
Yes — with Comfy Workers, you can book accommodation for subcontractors or external workers on behalf of your company. However, bookings must be made by a registered business, and your company will remain responsible for the stay. We currently do not support bookings from or for self-employed individuals directly.
When Is This Relevant?
This is useful when your site teams include:
- Subcontracted crews who are part of your supply chain
- Freelancers or specialists brought in for short-term roles
- External partners who need housing but aren’t on your direct payroll
If you're managing mobilisation or delivery across multiple sites and need full control of accommodation, it often makes sense to centralise stays under your own booking structure.
Who Can Book (and Who Can’t)?
You can book accommodation for subcontractors if:
- Your company is a registered limited business
- The booking is made through your company
- You accept responsibility for the stay, including costs, conduct and changes
- Many businesses also qualify for payment terms or a trade account
We currently don’t offer bookings for sole traders or self-employed individuals making personal bookings. We only work directly with businesses.
Can my Subcontractors Book for Themselves Instead?
Yes, if you don’t wish to handle the booking on their behalf, be responsible for their stay or pay directly - you can simply introduce us to them and we can facilitate all subcontractor bookings in one place.
